#1 Sentiment analyzer for investment research
Weeks to minutes, in sentence-level analysis of docs and transcripts
Machine learning model analyzes topic and sentiment, for the Beige Book, and earnings call transcripts. The goal is to identify trends in sectors, or industries, foresee a uptick in consumer spending, or a recession. Helps user understand which companies are trending upwards, or downwards, spot signals, and point out potential trouble like bankruptcy.
#2 Language analyzer for investment research
Classification and quantification of language for instant understanding
Extracts psychological features of companies by quantifying language usage in earnings call transcripts. Provides an insight of language changes, through a psychological lens. Compares trends over time, or against the stock price. The model uses theoretically motivated and empirical tested quantitative perspective.
#3 QuantHub for asset management, fixed income
10 investment research models live on a versatile web platfrom
Fixed Income Risk & Quant Analyst came up with the idea for QuantHub. A portal to bring together the various tools and applications required for building models and model based applications. I was the only UX resource on it, and I designed complex interactions. The challenge was that this one portal served 4 roles that are inherently different: discovery, building, usage, and maintenance, of machine learning models.
#4 Predictive analysis for financial advisors
Signals to financial advisor to help avoid risk and utilize opportunities
Financial Advisor's desktop app, has dashboard insights - a place where a financial advisor can learn news about their clients' behavior. My role was to make data meaningful to users (financial advisors). I partnered with IBM to either explain AI, or to customize APIs, in cases where advisors needed to know how AI calculated the prediction.
#5 Chatbot for asset management, fixed income
Conversational user experience aspect of a web-based chatbot
I designed a Fixed Income chatbot. It lives in Symphony (Slack for Wall Street). Its job was to: scan FINRA websites for new disclosures, fetch information, perform searches, and help with trade settlement. I created bot personality, opening lines, and interaction wireframes. I also designed this dashboard where user can search by company name, to perform counterparty credit research, and receive visual response representation.
#6 Data visualization
Bringing data to life through engaging, insightful visualization
Charts, graphs, maps, infographics, and dashboards created for the financial sector. First visual is from an article I wrote for my employer at the time, Publicis Sapient. In addition to writing it, I also designed all data vis in it too. Other projects include visualizations for Citi, BNY Mellon, JPMorgan and one of the top 5 asset management companies in the U.S. (non-referenceable Sapient client).
#7 Journey maps and user flows
Extract insights during user research, to build variety of journeys
#1 Two user journeys for the mortgage division of U.S. Bank. One persona-based and the other process-based. I built them in Mural. #2 Two user journeys for BNY Pershing Wealth Management; onboarding to trade and onboarding to use API. #3 One user flow for a derivatives agreements SaaS app, I designed for a futures start-up.
#8 Physician's virtual assistant
Multi-modal visual companion for virtual assistant experience
In this instance, I designed the visual part of an iPad app voice Virtual Assistant for physicians to look up information, and communicate with their patients. My contribution was UI for chat messages and dashboards. Physicians use Albert directly. Patients receive email or text notifications sent to them, by a physician, using Albert. Albert sends a message to patient, using patient's preffered communication channel.
#9 Pharmaceutical process diagram
Identify opportunities to improve enrollment in co-pay assistance
Genentech co-pay assistance program that identifies patient and employee pain points in a process diagram. I built it in Mural. Enrollment process had 20% abandonment rate. Client wanted to know why the abandonment was happening, and what can be done to fix the situation. I interviewed employees representing various different roles in the company and came up with recommendations for improvements.
#10 Lonely Planet - travel companion mobile app
Come up with a novel product that adds value to a well-known brand
"Lonely" is for 18-25-year-old backpackers, who travel the world. They mostly travel to remote places, and predominantly travel alone. "Lonely" connects them, if even for a day. Trivia #1: "Lonely" is the only project in this portfolio, for a non-captive audience. #2 this project was put together in 5 weeks.
