• QuantHub web platform for investment research, for building models and model based applications

    Situation:

5th largest asset manager in the United States. Fixed Income division. They needed a portal where all their investment research models will live and evolve.

    Task:

Design and build a portal to bring together the various tools and applications required for building models and model based applications. QuantHub has 5 key features: Research, Model Manager, Model Inference, Data Discovery, and My Apps.

    Action:

Sapient plus client assembled a team of individuals whose skills complemented each other. There was about 20 people, half from Sapient, half from the client's side. Data Scientists explored what was possible and what was interesting (looked for the stories in the data). Product worked on defining the scope. Various groups of people met with me to interview users, brainstorm, and whiteboard.

    Team:

On Sapient's end, we had 2 Product Managers, 2 Senior Data Scientists, Business Analyst, and Front and Back End developers. On client's end, teaming up with us, we had Portfolio Managers and Analysts.

    Personas:

Creators: Fixed Income Risk & Quant Analyst came up with the idea for QuantHub.

Users: Analysts, Traders and Portfolio Managers.

    My role:

I was the only UX resource on this project. My role was to envision this portal's structure, taxonomy, navigation and interaction. I partnered with 2 Business Analysts (who played a much bigger role, and played multiple roles) to surface use cases and nail down the exact UI.

    Result:

Launched successfully. Well received among users. Below is the promotional video, and a story of how the platform came together.
